    Before you write

Can you give me a quote for my basement?

We don’t do construction work or bid on projects. Our basement finishing calculator and waterproofing calculator will give you a detailed planning budget, and you can compare it against written quotes from local contractors.

Why is my contractor’s quote different from the calculator?

Our estimates use national average 2026 pricing adjusted for region. Local labor markets, site conditions, design details and a contractor’s overhead all move real bids up or down. If a quote is far outside our range, ask the contractor to itemize it. That usually shows where the difference comes from.

Can I use your calculators or data on my site?

You’re welcome to link to any of our calculators or guides. For embedding, republishing or data requests, send us a message with the details.
